In 1969, Gaylan Duncan began serving South Texas families from Goliad to Edna by offering funeral services in Victoria, Texas. Today, Colonial Funeral Home continues the tradition of providing comfort and compassion while caring for families in the Golden Crescent.

Supporting the Victoria community

Colonial Funeral Home team members take an active role in our community. Our team members directly participate in the Victoria Professional Express Network, an affiliate of the American Business Women's Association. We are also involved in the Lions Club of Victoria. Across the Golden Crescent, our employees are involved in local churches, schools and veteran organizations.

We are privileged to provide the Victoria County Veterans Council with ceremonial flag cases and white gloves for use during military funerals, with proper military honors provided to veterans under our care.

History

Growing with Victoria

In 1969, Victoria County resident Gaylan Duncan founded and established Colonial Funeral Home to serve families from Bloomington to McFaddin. As the area grew in prosperity and population, the Duncan family built a strong reputation based on providing excellent care to the entire Crossroads region of South Texas. Gaylan led a team of professionals through example, showing his team the importance of placing families first. He passed away in 2016.

Keeping tradition

Today, our local funeral directors carry on his legacy by providing carefully planned funeral services in Victoria with a personal touch. Our funeral home remains responsive to the distinct needs of each individual family. We treasure the trust we've earned in the Victoria community.
